Love Never Fails – 1 Corinthians 13:8
The 1960s were a time filled with many mixed messages. “Free love” and “love, not war” were common themes. Yet it was also a time of protests and riots – from anti-war protests to the race riots in the deep south. This greatly contrasted the “all you need is love” attitude, resulting in chaos throughout much of the decade.
The Book of I Corinthians mirrors some of the themes of the '60s. Chaos reigned in the lives of many Christians in the early church. The apostle Paul wrote this letter to the church to clarify how they should live. This book deals with many of the same situations faced today by individual Christians and the Church of 2009.
In spite of all the problems in the lives of the early church believers, love was at the center of I Corinthians and is still a big part of the Church today.
